|
By: Jason Hofius, George Khoury Publisher: TwoMorrows Publishing November 25, 2002
First of all, *ANYTHING* from Two Morrows publishing is going to be great. They don't solicit anything, they let people who are passionate about their ideas come to them, then TM polishes and publishes it.
G-force: Animated, is not exception to this rule. The book is divided into nine chapters:
Chapter 1: Covers the history of Gatchaman, the early 70's show from Tatsunoko... more

| 4. Battle Of The Planets Volume 2: Blood Red Sky |
|
By: Munier Sharrieff, Wilson Tortosa Publisher: Top Cow Productions/Image Comics December 09, 2003
I liked Blood Red Sky. A lot. Firstly, it takes a universe I became enamoured with as a toddler and brings it back to life. Tortosa, Sharrieff, and company have done an outstanding job pulling the Battle of the Planets in a more mature and realistic direction, replacing the one dimensional caricatures of the animated series with highly trained but flawed individuals, each with their own deeper pasts... more

| 5. Battle Of The Planets Volume 3: Destroy All Monsters |
|
By: Munier Sharrieff, Wilson Tortosa Publisher: Top Cow Productions/Image Comics December 24, 2003
I liked the first two parts of this--the story was tight, the action was fun and there were careful, subtle threads of mystery and romance woven through. I can't explain this last volume though. It sets up some intriguing stuff but gradually loses its momentum and then simply ends in the middle of the story. There's no resolution for the threads that are set up here, and many of the threads from earlier... more

|
By: Munier Sharrieff, Wilson Tortosa Publisher: Top Cow Productions/Image Comics May 28, 2003
I don't understand the panning either. The story was pretty good. The reviewer who was befuddled about Keyop stabbing the scientist doesn't get subtlety. I was pretty obvious why he flipped out. I was an interesting new take. I wish it continued. ... more

| 9. On the Fields of Battle (Star Wars: Clone Wars, Vol. 6) (v. 6) |
|
By: John Ostrander, Jan Duursema, Dan Parsons, Brad Anderson, Tomas Giorello Publisher: Dark Horse August 03, 2005
Part of a series on the clone wars, but done much better than others. Would recommed getting entire collection, but this one clearly demonstrates the fundamental differences between the stretched thin (physically and emotionally) the Jedi are and their blindness to the fact that they are being manipulated. It makes the story a bit lame, especially given all of the knowledge and power and insight that... more
