Calderon's Company - A 16th Century New World Garrison, is a group of living-historians based at De Soto National Memorial, in Bradenton, Florida. The organization is named after Captain Pedro Calderón, who was left in charge of the base camp and port, when Hernando de Soto began his entrada into La Florida in June of 1539.
California Military Museum: Spanish & Mexican Period - Contains links to articles and sites of interest to the Spanish Coloninal historical interpreter. Includes a collection of original paintings, drawings and photographs from Spanish Colonial to modern times.

Part of a collection of pages that discuss the contributions of Hispanics to the USA. Useful for old contact information, even with broken links and missing graphics.
Living History Society at the Mission San Juan Capistrano - This page is part of the larger Mission San Juan Capistrano site and contains info on their Living History Society and when they present. Within the larger site, there are event listings, historical info and pictures of the mission. There is also an application to be admitted to the Society.
Original drawings of 1720 Soldados de Cuera - The Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe, NM has the Segasser Hide Paintings on display. This is the only place on the web where I've found any representations of these important 1720 drawings. Click on the thumbnail to bring up a bigger picture.

Spanish Colonial Costume Suggestions - This website was created by Doña Pátryka Chaves de Tachick to assist members of the New Mexican Hispanic Cultural Preservation League in costuming themselves for their events. While it is a bit disorganized and has some pictures originating on other sites, it also has some pictures and links not found on other sites in the directory.
Spanish Colonial Military Artifacts - History, Archaeology, Relics - This site is dedicated to the exhibition and interpretation of ca. 1539-1821 Spanish colonial military artifacts from the former Spanish Floridas and Louisiana. Emphasis is on such uniform-related materials as buttons, buckles, and insignia.
Spanish Marines - a short history - This unofficial site for the Marine Corps of Spain has some history and pictures of interest to Spanish Colonial reenactors, especially the uniform pictures at the end of the page.
Wills of a Father and Son and A Contribution to the American Revolution - This article, written by a descendiente (Virginia Sanchez) describes her research into the wills of New Mexican soldados around 1800. The equipment that is listed in the wills makes this very useful to the Spanish Colonial (Presidial) reenactor. In addition, there are links to books on the sidebar that also might be of interest to more general Spanish Colonial history.
